The Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra has launched a campaign through ‘Nari Shakti Doot App’ to promote Namo Mahila Sahashaktikaran Abhiyan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to Maharashtra, launched the ‘Nari Shakti Doot App’ at a public event in Navi Mumbai yesterday.
Women are going to get a lot of help through this app. Through this, common citizens will be able to get information about needy women and help them. It is designed to help women easily avail the benefits of various government schemes.
Nari Shakti Doot app is developed with the aim of increasing citizen participation in government welfare schemes for women. Information about government schemes often does not reach many deserving and needy people. Recognizing that many face difficulties in availing the facilities available to them, this app acts as a vital link between the government, citizens and beneficiaries. Using technology, the app facilitates the identification and assistance of those in need. This will make it easier to implement government programs without any problems.
‘Nari Shakti Doot App’ is a brainchild of Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare. He has instructed his department officials to work on this mobile application, which will not only facilitate citizen participation in promoting welfare schemes for women, but also help women to avail the benefits of schemes of other departments. The app was launched by Prime Minister Modi under the Namo Mahila Sahashaktikaran Abhiyan for Maharashtra.
The interface of Nari Shakti Doot app is made user friendly so that this app can be used by people of all walks of life and age. Currently this app is available on play store.
Citizens, self-help groups can use this app to identify women who are benefiting from government schemes in their area but are not aware about it. This app provides information about various government schemes, their eligibility criteria and the benefits they provide. It also empowers citizens to effectively guide needy women.
Collector offices will have access to the Nari Shakti portal where they can view, contact and work to provide assistance to needy women who have been helped by citizens. Users can track the progress of their related cases. Also the transparency and progress of work can be checked.
Five important steps in the app process
1) Identification of beneficiaries by citizens and their information through Nari Shakti Doot app is presented.
2) This information is provided to the District Public Welfare Cell.
3) The District Public Welfare Cell interacts with the beneficiaries to understand their needs.
4) Checking the eligibility and helping them to complete the documents to avail the benefits.
5) Nari Shakti Doot gets information about the benefits.
