Richest Woman of India: India’s richest woman Savitri Jindal has overtaken Wipro’s Azim Premji to become the fifth richest person in the country in terms of net worth. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Jindal’s current net worth is around $25 billion. Premji’s total wealth is 24 billion dollars. Jindal is ranked 61st among billionaires in the world while Premji is ranked 66th.
Wipro shares fell 42 percent
Just two years ago, Premji was the third richest person in the country after Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. But Wipro’s wealth has dwindled as shares have fallen 42 per cent in the past two years. On the other hand, JSW Steel Chairman Emeritus Jindal’s net worth has increased by 87 percent in the last two years. He has invested in various sectors including power, cement and infrastructure. JSW Steel accounts for 30 percent of his wealth and his wealth has also grown from businesses such as JSW Infrastructure, Jindal Steel and Power and JSW Energy.
Ambani at 13th position
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mukesh Ambani is the richest person in India with a net worth of $92.3 billion. Ambani is ranked 13th in the world rankings. In the list of billionaires, Gautam Adani is the second richest person in India with a net worth of $85.3 billion. Adani is also ranked 14th in the world ranking.
Tata Group’s Shapoor Mistry is the third richest Indian with a net worth of $33.8 billion, followed by HCL Technologies founder Shiv Nader with a net worth of $31.6 billion. He is the fourth richest person in India. Also, Mistry is ranked 40th in the world while Nader is currently ranked 45th in terms of total wealth. Electric vehicle maker Tesla CEO Elon Musk is the world’s richest person with a net worth of $223 billion.
