According to the Hindu calendar, January 22 is the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha in the month of Paush. Nakshatra Mrigashira and Brahma Yoga till 8.47 am and after that Indra Yoga will occur.
According to astrologers, January 22 is Karma Dwadashi. This Dwadashi Tithi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is said to have taken the form of a tortoise on this day. According to religious texts, on this day Lord Vishnu took the form of a tortoise and helped churn the ocean.
Lord Sri Rama is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, this day is considered very auspicious for the inauguration of Ram Mandir and this day has been selected.
