Panchak Review: Konkan is said to be a scenic area standing before the eyes. The people of Konkan are simple and naive. Many such feelings come to mind. The sweetness of Konkani language can be felt in the speech of the people there. And it’s really fun to be around these people.
The light hearted story of such Konkani people has been presented in the movie ‘Panchak’. Now you must be wondering how is the cinema? Says For that, read this review till the end.

Those who have seen the trailer of ‘Panchak’ must have guessed the story. Still telling for those who don’t know. Panchak’s story takes place in Konkan. A large family of Khotas in Konkan. Brothers of this family died. So the whole family is sad. At that time, Bhatji comes to the house and says that Panchak has started. Then once again everyone panics. Which member of the family will die after the brothers, this creates fear in everyone’s mind. And then begins the backstitching game of faith – superstition. Whether this game entertains or bores you will know the answer by looking at the quintet. Now what exactly is Panchak? You will know the answer to this by watching the movie. I won’t go too deep.
How is the direction and music of panchak?
Overall, a pure family movie has come in Marathi after a long time after Ventilator. The quintet is really cool before the interval. We sympathize with the problem of the Khot family. Some events bring excitement. Some incidents are laughable. The director has perfectly captured the nature of houses, nature and people in Konkan. The chemistry between all the actors is fun to watch as their works are amazing.
After the interval, however, the quintet feels a little drawn out. Some of the episodes get a bit too colorful and fun as they drag on. But still the performance of the actors saves Panchakala till the end. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the director duo of Rahul Awte and Jayant Jathar have used the music well. Composer Mangesh Dhakade has beautifully opened some simple scenes through opera music. In particular, the scene of ‘Panchak Shanti’ is well matched with the use of opera in the background. So the clever use of music is commendable.
How are the actors acting?
Now about the acting… the first to mention is Dilip Prabhavalkar. Dilipkak has done a great job despite playing a very small role. Their demeanor makes the atmosphere pleasant. Dilipkaka is fun to watch and listen to as he also has the voice of the panchak. I keep thinking that it would have been better if they had more opportunities.
Second mention is Bharti Achrekar and Satish Alekar. Seeing the chemistry between them is an unforgettable experience as both of them are great actors. Watching the acting juggling act of veteran actors Dileep – Bharti – Satish Alekar is a treat for all.
Other artists too namely Adinath Kothare, Anand Ingle, Tejashree Pradhan, Deepti Devi, Nandita Patkar, Sampada Joglekar Kulkarni, Sagar Talshikar, Ashish Kulkarni, Aarti Wadagbalkar, Ganesh Mayekar have also done their work well. As told by Magasi, the chemistry of all of them matches with each other and nobody seems to be acting.

Panchak is produced by Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri Dixit who charmed the Indian entertainment world with her beauty and acting. Basically, for her first production, Madhuri chose a Marathi film set in the soil of Maharashtra.
So in the end, I just want to say this… At the beginning of the new year, a light-hearted entertainment quintet has entered the Marathi entertainment world. Madhuri Dixit and Dr. Sriram Nene has produced the movie. If you want to forget the tension and want pure entertainment, you can definitely watch Panchak once. 3 stars for this movie from me.
