Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Friday that former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, Charan Singh Chaudhary and agriculturist MS Swaminathan have been announced Bharat Ratna. Recently LK Advani and Karpuri Thakur have also been declared Bharat Ratna.

In 2019, Bharat Ratna was announced to Nanaji Deshmukh, Bhupendra Kumar Hazarika, Pranab Mukherjee. In 2015, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, Atal Bihari Vajpayee were declared Bharatratna.

The government awarded the Bharat Ratna to these ten veterans. Interestingly, as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the Bharat Ratna Awards are being announced. In the last few days, five people have been announced as Bharat Ratna.
