Soon, Apple will produce 5 crore iPhones in India every year. The company is preparing for this and it has been claimed in a report of the Wall Street Journal that it will be possible in the next two to three years. If this is possible, 25 percent of the total iPhones in the world will be ‘Made in India’.

Apple assembled iPhones worth over Rs 58,000 crore in India last financial year. Foxconn, a major company that manufactures iPhones for Apple, had announced an investment of around 13 thousand crores in India last month. The Foxconn factory in Karnataka is likely to start production from April next year. Along with this, another factory of the company is also being set up.

Tata will also make iPhone

The Tata Group will also contribute to iPhone manufacturing in India. Tata plans to set up factories for this in Tamil Nadu. It is said that 20 assembly lines will be opened in two years, and there will be 50 thousand employees. Tata Group has also acquired the Wistron factory in Karnataka for iPhone manufacturing.

According to the data provided by the Government of India, mobile phones worth more than 5.5 billion dollars were exported from India between April and August in the financial year 2023-24. iPhone had the biggest share in this. After that, Samsung was at the second position.
