GST Collection: The total goods and services tax i.e. GST collection in the last month of last year, December, is Rs.1 lakh 64 thousand 882 crores. Compared to Rs 1.50 lakh crore in December 2022, it has increased by 10.3 percent, while it has declined in December compared to Rs 1.68 lakh crore in November 2023. The Ministry of Finance released this data today.
In the month of December, revenue from domestic transactions was 13 percent higher than the revenue from these sources in the same month last year. This is the seventh month in which GST collection has exceeded Rs 1.60 lakh crore in this financial year.
In the first nine months of 2023, the total GST collection has been Rs.14.97 lakh crore, which is a 12 percent increase compared to Rs.13.40 lakh crore in the same period last year.
Total GST in December was Central GST Rs 30,443 crore, State GST Rs 37,935 crore, Integrated GST Rs 84,255 crore and Cess Rs 12,249 crore.
Meanwhile, the Income Tax department has released the figures of a total of 8.18 crore ITRs filed in the assessment year 2023-24. These figures have been revealed after the total ITRs filed till December 31.
9 percent more ITRs have been filed this year compared to the previous assessment year 2022-23. 1.60 crore audit reports have also been filed during this period.
