A man was selling Cotton Candy on a beach in Chennai. A sample was taken and studied on it. The chemical Rhodamine-B has been found in this sample. Also another chemical along with Rhodamine-B has been found in the blue colored Cotton Candy. These chemicals are dangerous for the human body. Hence Cotton Candy has been banned in Chennai and Puducherry. After that, the Delhi government has also become alert and has started the process of researching this.

Toxic synthetic

Rhodamine-B is a synthetic chemical. Which is considered toxic and hazardous to health. This chemical called Rhodamine-B is used in the clothing industry. Clothes and leather are dyed using this chemical. Rhodamine is also used in the printing industry to color paper.

Chemicals which are used to color clothes and shoes are being put into Cotton Candy. This is what old and young children like to eat and parents take to their children. What is the effect on the body?

The rhodamine-B chemical accumulates in the kidneys, liver, and intestines. This increases the risk of cancer and tumors. It also increases the risk of developing an ulcer in the intestine. Apart from this it also affects the head. Skin and eye irritations are also experienced.

The most shocking thing is that this chemical stays in the body for about 60 days and gradually it has bad effects on the body. This means if one consumes Cotton Candy, the chemical remains in the body for 60 days. In some other cases, it causes bloating, itching and breathing problems.
