ICC T20 World Cup 2024
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the 9th Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup tournament. The world’s top teams will participate in it. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be jointly hosted by West Indies and the United States.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will start from June 4, 2024. This occasion will be the first time that the United States will host a major cricket tournament. The ICC has recently finalized the venues in the United States where the T20 World Cup matches will be played.
How Many Team’s Are Qualifying?
20 teams from the world will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Cricket is one of the most popular and most watched sports in the world. Twelve teams have already confirmed their places for this tournament for the year 2024. As hosts, West Indies and the United States have secured the first two positions. Then, the spots for the top eight teams (top four in each Super 12 group) of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 are confirmed. Besides, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have also confirmed their places.
The remaining eight qualifiers will come from regions with two teams each from Africa, Asia and Europe and one team each from the Americas and the EAP.
Format of ICC T20 World Cup 2024
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: In the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, a total of 20 teams will be divided into groups of four and there will be five teams in one group. This tournament will be organized in round-robin format.
The top two teams of each group will advance to the Super 8 race in the tournament. After that the qualifying teams will be divided into two groups, one group will have 4 teams.
After this, the top 2 qualifying teams will enter the knockout phase. After which the teams will play each other for the semi-finals and final of the championship.

When will the tournament start?
In this cricket competition, cricket teams from 20 countries of the world will compete against each other for the T20 World Cup title. This tournament will be played from June 4, 2024 to June 30, 2024. England is the winner of the last T20 World Cup. This is the first time that a major ICC tournament will be organized in the USA.

Who won the last T20 World Cup
The previous edition of the tournament i.e. ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 was hosted by Australia. Where the final match was played between Pakistan and England. England, led by Jos Buttler, won the title by defeating Pakistan by five wickets. This was the second time that England became the champion, before this England became the champion in 2010.
How many times has India won the T20 World Cup
India won the first T20 World Cup in 2007 by defeating Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. This was the first edition of the T20 World Cup. The first World Cup was hosted by South Africa. India has won the T20 World Cup only once so far.
