ICC World Cup 2023: ICC Golden Bat and ICC Golden Ball awards are being given since the 1975 World Cup. At the same time, the ICC ‘Player of the Tournament’ award was given for the first time in the 1992 World Cup. The Golden Bat is given to the person who scores the most runs in the tournament and the Golden Ball is given to the person who takes the most wickets.

Australia won its record sixth World Cup title by defeating India by six wickets in the World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19). Golden Bat Award:

Indian star batsman Virat Kohli scored the highest score of 765 runs in 11 matches in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. During this period, Virat Kohli’s average was 95.62 and strike rate was 90.31. Virat Kohli scored 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries in the tournament. Virat won the Golden Bat Award by scoring the most runs.

Golden Ball Award:

Mohammed Shami remained the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. Won the ‘Most Wickets’ award with 24. The experienced fast bowler was also awarded the ‘Best Bowling Figures’ award for his performance in the India vs New Zealand semi-final match, where he took 7 wickets.

Player of the Tournament:

India’s Virat Kohli won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award with 765 runs, one wicket and 5 catches.

Most Sixes Award:

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was honored with the ‘Most sixes’ award. He hit 31 sixes in the tournament.

Highest Score and Highest Strike Rate Award:

Australia’s Glenn Maxwell was given the ‘Highest Score’ and ‘Highest Striker Rate’ awards for his exploits against Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Maxwell scored unbeaten 201 runs at a tremendous strike rate of 150.37 and helped his team register a historic victory.

Most Centuries Award:

South African wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock scored 594 runs in the 50 over format of the game, which included four centuries. The 30-year-old was given the ‘Most Centuries’ award.

Most Fifty Award:

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli received the award for most fifties. Virat Kohli has 6 half-centuries in his name in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Most Catch Award:

New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell received the ‘Most Catch’ award. This Kiwi star achieved the feat of taking the maximum number of 11 catches in the tournament.
