Zimbabwe’s dream of qualifying for the 2024 T20 World Cup has been dashed as Uganda has crashed out of next year’s World Cup. Zimbabwe performed well in the 2022 T20 World Cup. They had won three matches. The 1 run win against Pakistan is still talked about. Zimbabwe could not qualify for ODI World Cup 2019 and 2023.
Seven teams participated in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa qualifiers, of which the top two teams will play in the T20 World Cup 2024. Uganda won five out of six matches and booked their ticket to the World Cup. Uganda’s only loss came against Namibia.
Uganda beat Zimbabwe by five wickets. Talking about Zimbabwe, they faced losses against Namibia and Uganda. And this was the heaviest for him.
Namibia have already qualified for the 2024 T20 World Cup by winning all five matches. Uganda secured their place in the 2024 T20 World Cup by winning their sixth league match. Now, even if Zimbabwe wins against Kenya, they will not get a chance to play in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
