The liver performs more than 500 functions in the body. We all have heard, read that alcohol is not good for liver health. But did you know that people who don’t drink alcohol can also get liver damage? Yes it is true. Apart from alcohol, there are many other factors that can damage your liver.

There is a disease in the liver, fatty liver disease, that is, bad fat accumulates on the liver. People generally think that only heavy drinkers get fatty liver disease. But it is not so.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can be caused by a wrong lifestyle without alcohol. Today we are going to learn about that. The main symptom of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is obesity, insulin resistance in which your body’s cells do not make enough sugar than the hormone insulin.

High blood sugar level and high level of fat in the blood, trans fat has been increasing since last decade ie 10-15 years non alcoholic fatty liver disease. Initially this disease was more common in western countries but now due to wrong lifestyle of people it is now considered as one of the top diseases in India.

If you are overweight, you are more likely to develop this disease. As obesity progresses, fat accumulates in the liver. Even though some people are not obese, they suffer from this disease called lean fatty liver disease.

It is a metabolic factor caused by cholesterol, hypertension and triglycerides. Apart from this, diabetes can also cause this disease. If you are not active, it is important to pay attention to your BMI.

‘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is caused by uncontrolled obesity and diabetes. Apart from this, too much carbohydrate intake, wrong diet, junk food increases the risk of fatty liver. Apart from this, not exercising daily, online work, wrong lifestyle also increase the risk of this disease.
