In the past few days, there has been a massive increase in air pollution.

Rising pollution in and around the national capital has raised alarm bells. All parts of Delhi-NCR are suffering due to the ravages of toxic smog. The atmosphere of toxic smog has made it difficult for people to breathe. People are facing problems like sore throat, eye irritation, difficulty in breathing. Due to this environment in Delhi, the danger of diseases spread due to pollution has increased in the state of Maharashtra as well. Therefore, the health department has given instructions to take precautions.

Public awareness to prevent health effects of air pollution:

General citizens:- The risk of exposure to air pollution can be reduced by following. Avoid going to places like power plants and brick kilns.Avoid going to power plants and brick kilns etc. Schedule outdoor activities according to the AQI level and stay indoors on days with poor to severe AQI. Avoid walking, running, jogging and physical exercise in the morning and late evening on days with poor to severe AQI. • Do not open windows and doors in the morning and evening hours, if necessary you can go out between 12 noon and 4 pm.

Avoid burning biomass like wood, coal, animal dung, kerosene. Use clean smokeless fuel (gas or electricity) for cooking and heating purposes. If using biomass, use a clean cook stove. Avoid burning crackers. Avoid open burning of any kind of wood, leaves, crop residues and garbage. Do not consume cigarettes, BD and related tobacco products.

Use a wet cloth instead of sweeping or vacuuming around the house. If you choose to use a vacuum cleaner, use one that has a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. Wash your eyes regularly with running water and rinse regularly with warm water. or water) consult the nearest doctor.

Maintain adequate body water levels by eating a healthy diet, fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants, and drinking plenty of water. Optional measures: Use of disposable N95 or N99 masks is helpful. These masks can help if you spend less time outdoors in pollution. Paper masks, handkerchiefs, scarves and cloths are not effective. If you choose to use an air purifier, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Be sure to change and clean the filter as directed. Avoid using air purifiers that work by generating ozone, as this increases pollution in rooms. When operating an air conditioner in a building or vehicle, use it in “recirculate” mode to avoid exposure to outside air,
