So far, if we look at the trends, BJP’s strategy of ‘MPs’ seems to be effective. In fact, BJP fielded many MPs in the assembly elections of these states. The party had given tickets to seven sitting MPs each in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and four in Chhattisgarh. Let BJP know how effective this strategy proved to be.

Counting of votes for assembly elections of four states is going on. According to the trends so far, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh while Congress is leading in Telangana. In the 230-member assembly of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is on the way to power with 163 seats, while the Congress is leading on 66 seats. BJP is far ahead of the ruling Congress in Rajasthan. Here people have been changing the government in every election for the last three decades. BJP is leading on 115 seats, while Congress is leading on 69 seats. Along with this, in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, BJP is leading on 54 seats and Congress on 36 seats.

Votes were cast for the 230-member assembly of Madhya Pradesh on November 17. Here BJP was in direct competition with Congress. Realizing the importance of the state, BJP threw its full force here. The party had given an indication that it was not taking this election lightly by contesting seven MPs. Let’s know the status of MPs…
• Narendra Singh Tomar (Dimani): Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar contested from Dimani assembly seat. Presently this seat was held by Congress. Ravindra Tomar won from here in 2018 elections. This time Congress also bet on Ravindra. As per the trends so far, Tomar is leading by 19335 votes.
• Prahlad Patel (Narsinghpur): Union Minister Prahlad Patel was contesting from Narsinghpur seat of Mahakoshal. At present this seat belongs to BJP. In the 2018 elections, Prahlad Patel’s brother Jalam won the election from here. But this time his elder brother Prahlad Patel was given the ticket in his place. Finally he defeated Lakhan Singh Patel of Congress by 31310 votes.
• Faggan Singh Kulaste (Residential): Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste was an election candidate from Mandal Ki Niwas seat. This seat also comes in great skill. Congress had cut the ticket of the sitting MLA and given the ticket to Chain Singh. Now this seat is in the hands of Congress, which was under pressure to win. BJP candidate Faggan Singh Kulaste has lost to Congress candidate Chain Singh by 9723 votes.
• Udayrao Pratap Singh (Gadarwada): MP Udayrao Pratap Singh was a candidate from Gadarwada seat of Narsinghpur. This seat also comes in great skill. Sunita Patel of Congress was against Udayarao. This seat was still held by Congress. However, BJP’s candidate has won this seat by 56529 votes.
• Rakesh Singh (Jabalpur West): MP Rakesh Singh was contesting from Jabalpur West. Opposing him was former Congress minister Tarun Bhanot. This seat was held by Congress, but now the equation seems to be changing. Rakesh Singh has won this seat by 30134 votes.
The bet was placed on these MPs in Rajasthan
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was contested from Jotwara assembly seat. Similarly Diya Kumari to Vidyadhar Nagar, Baba Balaknath to Tijara, Dr. Kirori Lal Meena was nominated from Sawai Madhopur, Bhagirath Choudhary from Kishangarh, Devji Patel from Sanchor and Narendra Kumar Khegar from Mandawa seat.
• Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore: BJP had fielded MP Rathore as its candidate from Jotwara assembly seat in Jaipur. Rathore is the Member of Parliament from Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha seat and also the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting. He was born on 29 January 1970 in Jaisalmer. Rathore has also been a former marksman. Rajyavardhan has won this seat by 50167 votes.
• Diya Kumari: BJP nominated her from Vidyadhar Nagar seat. This seat also falls in Jaipur district. Diya Kumari was born in Jaipur. He is an MP from Rajsamand seat. Before this, she has also been MLA from Sawai Madhopur. Princess Diya of Jaipur is the daughter of Maharaja Sawai Singh and Maharani Padmini Devi of Jaipur. On 10 September 2013, Diya joined the BJP, starting her political journey. Diya Kumari won by 71368 votes.
• Devji Patel: BJP nominated Patel from Sanchor assembly seat. This seat comes in Jalore district. Devji Patle is the third time Member of Parliament from Jalore Sirohi Parliamentary Constituency. He has won the 2009, 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections consecutively. 47 year old Devji Patel is also known as Devji Bhai M Patel. He was born on 24 September 1976 in Jajusan Sanchor, Jalore. However, Devji Patel came third with 30535 votes in Sanchor assembly seat.
• Narendra Kumar Khichad: BJP had nominated Narendra from Mandava seat in the assembly elections. This seat falls in Jhunjhunu district of the state. Narendra is currently an MP from Jhunjhunu Lok Sabha seat. Narendra is popularly known as ‘Pradhanji’ in his area. Narendra joined BJP in 2004. He contested the election in 2008, but lost. In 2013, BJP contested the election as an independent candidate and became an MLA. After this again BJP took hold. He also won the assembly elections in 2018.
The fate on MPs in Chhattisgarh is at stake
Elections for 90 assembly seats of Chhattisgarh were conducted in two phases. Under the first phase, 20 seats were voted on November 7 and under the second phase, 70 seats were voted on November 17. BJP fielded four of its MPs here. Let’s know what happened to them…
• Renuka Singh (Bharatpur-Sonhat): Union Minister of State is MP from Sarguja parliamentary seat. Renuka Singh has been MLA in 2003. After becoming a Union Minister, his base in the region increased. He has also been MLA from Prem Nagar seat in 2003, 2008. As of now, they are leading by 4749 votes in the trends.
• Gomti Sai (Pathalgaon): Gomti Sai is MP from Raigarh Lok Sabha seat. He was nominated by BJP from Pathalgaon assembly seat. He was up against Rampukar Singh Thakur of Congress. BJP’s Gomti Sai defeated Congress candidate Rampukar Singh Thakur by just 255 votes.
• Arun Saw (Lormi): MP from Bilaspur parliamentary seat. He is also the state president of Saav Party. Arun Saw was contested from Lormi. Being an MP from Bilaspur, Sawa has influence on many seats, so he was nominated. Currently he is leading by more than 45 thousand votes.
