This case report is published on SpringerLink. Adverse events such as AESI have been reported in Bharat Biotech’s observational studies on vaccine side effects.
Meanwhile, a few days ago the giant pharma company AstraZeneca admitted in a court in London that its vaccine can cause side effects in rare cases. After this there was excitement.
In the study, which included 1,024 people, only 635 adolescents and 291 adults could be contacted at a one-year follow-up.
It found that viral upper respiratory tract infections were reported in 303 adolescents and 124 adults.
The study was conducted by experts from Sankh Shubhra Chakraborty and Banaras Hindu University and found that most of the AESI survived even after one year.

• General disorders – 10.2%
• Skin and subcutaneous disorders – 10.5%
• Musculoskeletal disorders – 5.8%
• Nervous system disorders – 5.5%
• In women, menstrual abnormalities by 4.6%.
In severe cases, patients suffer from Guillain-Barré syndrome and stroke. But this happens only in 1% and 0.3% of cases respectively.
In addition, cases of typhoid were reported among some of the study participants with a history of allergies, particularly among women and adolescent girls.
Adults with comorbidities are twice as likely to experience persistent AESI. But it was also noted that patterns of adverse events differed between adult and adolescent girls. Adults with hypertension were reported to be at higher risk of AESI after vaccination.
