Luxury car maker Porsche has said that the first car designed by company founder Ferdinand Porsche was an electric car. The car was displayed by the company at an exhibition held at a museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany.
At the time of production, the car was named the Egger Lohner Electric Vehicle C.2 Phaeton model. Built in 1898, the car was recently found in a garage in Austria, where it had been kept since 1902. At the age of just 22, Ferdinand Porsche designed this car for car manufacturer Jakob Lohner. Later, Porsche started his own car company in 1931.
The first car made by Porsche had an electric engine in the rear. He was running at a speed of 34 kilometers per hour. It was during this period that Ludwig Lohner realized that the age of the horse-drawn carriage was coming to an end. He asked Ferdinand Porsche to build an electric car.

Once fully charged, this car can travel up to 49 miles at a speed of 34 kilometers per hour. Porsche entered this car in the Berlin Road Race held in Berlin on September 28, 1899.
