Mohammed Shami Arjuna Award: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami won the recently held ODI World Cup. Now he is likely to get a big reward. According to a report by ANI, BCCI has specially recommended Mohammad Shami for Arjuna Award 2023.

According to a report by ANI, BCCI has made a special request to include Mohammad Shami’s name in the list of Arjuna Awards. Mohammed Shami’s name was not in the original list. But BCCI has now made a special request for Shami, who took the most wickets in the World Cup.

Mohammad Shami was on the bench for the first four matches of the World Cup. But as soon as he got a chance, he played his coin in a dig. He quickly became the bowler who took the most wickets in the World Cup 2023. He took 24 wickets in just 7 matches.

BCCI has specially recommended Mohammad Shami for Arjuna Award 2023 after seeing his performance in World Cup. Now it will be interesting to see what decision the central government committee takes on this.

A strong performance in the semi-finals

Mohammad Shami made his international debut in 2013. He has played 64 Tests, 101 ODIs and 23 T20Is so far. He has taken 229 wickets in Tests, 195 in ODIs and 24 wickets in T20Is.

He took 5 wickets for 18 runs in the series against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium. In the semi-final against New Zealand, he took 7 wickets giving 57 runs. India reached the final on the strength of his strong performance.
