Kerala Bomb Blast: 2 Died 52 Injured, Union Home Minister Amit Shah Sent NSG and NIA to Kerala Blast Site

Three blasts at a Christian group’s convention centre in Kerala’s Kalamassery on Sunday morning killed Two person and injured 52 others. Preliminary investigation revealed that the Kalamassery explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).

The blast ripped through the convention centre around 9:30 am on Sunday, as nearly 2,500 people were in the middle of a prayer.

Hours after the attack, a man, Dominic Martin, claimed responsibility for the blast and surrendered before the police. He said he was a member of the religious group but had been angered by some of its teachings.

How Many Died and Injured in Kerala Bomb Blast?

Two people were killed and over 50 injured in the bomb blast during a meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a private convention centre in Kalamassery on Sunday morning.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday said that 41 people have been hospitalized following serial blasts in Kerala’s Ernakulam district. “Currently, 41 people are hospitalised, 27 people admitted in Ernakulam Medical College. 4 people discharged. 2 people have died, and 5 are critical,” he said.

NSG team arrives at blast site in Kerala’s Ernakulam:

A National Security Guard (NSG) team arrived from Delhi at Kerala’s Ernakulam at the blast site.

FIR filed in Kerala’s Ernakulam Bomb Blast:

Police has filed an FIR in Kerala’s Ernakulam blasts case. The FIR has been filed under sections 302, 307, Explosive Substances Act and UAPA in the Kalamassery convention centre blast case.
