NEET UG 2024
After the declaration of NEET exam result 2024 many questions are being raised on the integrity of the National Testing Agency. In this year’s result there are 67 students who got 720 out of 720 marks. After seeing the results, the question arose that how come so many kids got full marks? Despite the pretty negative marking? Amid all these questions, the Calcutta High Court has now sought a reply from the National Testing Agency (NTA) on a petition questioning alleged irregularities in the conduct of the 2024 NEET (UG) examination.

The ‘NEET UG’ examination was held on May 5 in 557 cities across the country and 14 cities abroad. As many as 24 lakh students appeared for this examination. There were also allegations that the papers of this examination were torn. NEET UG result was declared on 4th June. Among them, 67 candidates got the first rank in the country. However, the students alleged that there was irregularity while awarding the marks.

The matter was heard before a bench of Justice Apoorva Sinha Ray and Justice Kaushik Chanda. The petitioner stated that as per the applicable marking/scoring system some candidates could not score 718 or 719 out of the maximum possible 720 marks.
Accordingly, the court directed the NTA to file an affidavit within ten days from the date to answer the allegations made in the writ petition. Instructions have also been given that the affidavit should also state how the reservation policies of the state and central governments have been followed while preparing the merit list.
A petition was also filed in the Supreme Court in this matter. A group of candidates has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking re-conduct of the NEET-UG, 2024 examination. The exam was held on May 5. The petition alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination held on May 5.
