Arvind Kejriwal walked out of Tihar Jail on Friday after the Supreme Court granted bail in the alleged liquor scam case. On Saturday, Kejriwal along with his wife went to Hanuman temple to worship and had darshan of Bajrangbali. After that Arvind Kejriwal reached AAP office today. Here he addressed the AAP workers. At this time, Kejriwal announced that he will resign from the post of Chief Minister after two days. Arvind Kejriwal said on this occasion that God has blessed us all. That is why we fight big problems and come out victorious. I also thank the millions of people who prayed for our comrades.’

Arvind Kejriwal while criticizing the BJP said, ‘They wanted to break the Aam Aadmi Party by sending these people to jail. Being in prison has boosted my morale. Wrote a letter to LG from jail. When I wrote to LG, I was threatened. Threats were made to stop family meetings.’ Arvind Kejriwal further said that, ‘I am going to resign from the post of Chief Minister after two days. I will not sit on the Chief Minister’s chair until the people give their verdict. Me and Manish Sisodia will go to public. Delhi Assembly will not be dissolved. He also explained that there will be another Chief Minister in my place.

Arvind Kejriwal further said, ‘BJP has come up with another new formula that wherever they lose the elections, they will arrest the Chief Ministers by filing false cases and topple their governments. They filed a case against Siddaramaiah, Pinarayi Vijayan, Mamta Didi. They don’t even spare an a opposition chief minister. Everyone is falsely accused, jailed and overthrown by the government.’

Also, ‘I request all the non-BJP Chief Ministers of the country with folded hands that now if the Prime Minister files a false case and puts you in jail, do not resign. Do not resign under any circumstances. Run the government from jail. It is not that we are greedy for position. Because our constitution is important to us and it is important to save democracy.’, Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the BJP Chief Minister.

Who is Atishi Marlena?

Atishi made her first foray into politics in 2012 during the anti-corruption movement. The foundation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was also laid in this movement. Atishi was also nominated from the East Delhi seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but lost to BJP’s Gautam Gambhir. Then in 2020, Kejriwal again reposed faith in Atishi and nominated her to the Legislative Assembly, since then she has been an MLA from Delhi’s Kalkaji Assembly Constituency.
