Water Metro in Ayodhya: Preparations are underway for the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. On the occasion of Lord Ram statue installation, Akshata is being sent all over the country and Kalash Yatra is also being organized. Along with the installation of Ramlalla, water transportation will also start in Ayodhya. Water Metro will be started in Sharyu river in the new year.
The first Water Metro in Uttar Pradesh will be launched in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to Ayodhya on January 22 for the installation of Ram Murthy in Ram Mandir. This water metro will be inaugurated by him. This water Metro has been built in Kochi Shipyard. This metro has been dispatched from Kochi to Ayodhya. By water, it will reach Ayodhya via Patna from Kolkata.
Two jetties for Metro have reached Ramnagari from Kolkata. This jetty will be used to travel between the Ghat on Sharyu and the Metro. One of these jetties will be constructed at Naya Ghat and the other at Guptar Ghat.
A team of the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) accompanying the jetty has reached Ayodhya. IWAI Vice President Sunil Kumar Singh said that water Metro will arrive on January 14 or 15.
This water metro will promote religious tourism in Ayodhya. In future, the operation of this metro will be done by the Uttar Pradesh government. The proposal to set up the Waterways Authority was approved in the cabinet meeting held last month under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Water transport in Sharyu river is a part of it. Senior officials of ‘IWAI’ said that there is also a plan to start catamaran boats on Naya Ghat to Guptar Ghat route in the future.
What Will be The Travel Charges of Water Metro Ayodhya?
The Inland Waterways Authority of India has not yet fixed the fares for this metro journey. But one way ticket is likely to be Rs.20 to Rs.30. A ticket for the country’s first Jal Metro, which was launched earlier in the city of Kochi in Kerala, costs Rs.20. There is also a monthly or weekly pass facility. On the same lines, the facility of online Water Metro reservation can be started in Ayodhya.
