India Spy Satellite: India's first private spy satellite ready for launch; Produced by 'Tata', 'Space-X' will launch - Report

India’s First Spy Satellite made by Private Player

India’s first spy satellite made by a private player is now ready for launch. This satellite will be used by the military to get classified information. The satellite is built by Tata Advance Systems Limited (TASL). It will be launched from the rocket of Elon Musk’s ‘SpaceX’ company. The launch is expected to take place in April.

This satellite (Tata Spy Satellite) is currently in India and will be sent to Florida for launch. Economic Times has published a news about this. A ground control center for this satellite is being set up in Bangalore. It will be working soon. This center will be used for processing the photos sent by the satellite. It is also said in this news that Latin-American company Satelogic is cooperating for this.

What will be the benefit?

Earlier, our military had to depend on foreign satellites to get accurate ground coordinates and time information. However, now due to this indigenous satellite, India will be able to monitor itself. This will give the army complete ground control. Media reports have informed that India will also provide the information provided by the TASL satellite to its allies.

Several satellites of India’s Space Research Organization (ISRO) can transmit imagery data. However, this information cannot satisfy the urgency of the intelligence agency. India is currently using satellites of US companies for spying. The need for an indigenous spy satellite has become more acute due to ongoing disputes on the China border. In this way, this satellite will be beneficial for India.
