However, now that such a virus has been found even close to India, scientists have expressed concern.
Scientists have found a 15 thousand year old virus near the Guliya Ice Cap near the Tibetan Plateau. What is special is that not only one but many types of virus (Tibet Virus) have been found here. Matthew Sullivan, another scientist at Ohio University, said that these viruses have persisted even in adverse conditions. Scientists have said that this can be a warning bell for us.
Bacteria species
Last year too, around 1000 types of bacteria were recovered from Tibetan glaciers. If this glacier melts, its water will mix with the rivers of India and China. Scientists have expressed the possibility of getting infected with viruses by drinking water mixed with these bacteria. Currently, due to global warming, the speed of melting of these glaciers has also increased. Scientists have expressed the opinion that this may be a future threat for countries like India, China and Myanmar.
