Kapalabhati Pranayam is a method (action) of Shatkarma (Hatha Yoga) in Yoga. In Sanskrit, Kapal means forehead or forehead and Bhati means brightness. Regular practice of this pranayama brings glow on the face resulting from internal glow. Kapala Bhati is a very energetic high abdominal breathing exercise.
Kapal means brain and Bhati means cleanliness. That is, ‘Kapal Bhati’ is the pranayama which cleanses the brain and in this condition the functioning of the brain operates smoothly. However, this pranayam has other benefits also. Liver is very beneficial for kidney gas etc.
How To Do Kapalbhati Pranayam?
To do Kapal Bhati Pranayama, sit in any meditative posture, Sukhasana or on a chair, keeping the spine straight. After this, exhale the breath as fast as possible through both the nostrils. Also compress the stomach inwards as much as possible. After that, immediately inhale the breath through both the nostrils and let the stomach come out as much as possible. This activity can be done gradually from 50 times to 500 times as per strength and requirement, but do not do it more than 50 times in a row. Increase the sequence gradually.

Benefit of Kapalbhati Pranayam:
• Regular practice of this pranayama reduces unnecessary fat in the body. Digestion remains fine.
• There will be no cough related diseases and respiratory diseases in future. Activity usually continues throughout the day.
• Sleep is also good at night. The disease of asthma is destroyed from its roots.
Precautions While Doing Kapalbhati Pranayam:
• In case of problems like heart diseases, high blood pressure and stomach gas etc., this pranayama should be done slowly (60 times in a minute).
• Do not do this pranayam in dusty, smoke-odorous, closed or hot environment. • • Do not do it at the time of menstrual cycle and during pregnancy.
• Do not do it in case of fever, diarrhea, extreme weakness.
• Do not do this pranayama in case of constipation. Cleanse your stomach by adding lemon to lukewarm water and only then do this.
• In order to quickly reduce the protruding belly, many people do this pranayama several times a day, which is harmful.
• Do not do Kapal Bhati Pranayama for 4 hours after eating food.
• Those who have undergone any kind of surgery should not do Kapalbhati for 6 months.
