The Indian team will tour Australia in November and will play a five-match series there for the first time in 32 years.
The Indian team will go on a tour of Australia in the month of November and will play a series of five Test matches there for the first time after 32 years. The curiosity of this Test series between India and Australia, who are currently sitting at the top two positions in Test cricket and have been a traditional rivalry for the past few years, has started to increase.
The official schedule of the tour is likely to be announced by Cricket Australia next month. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the first match of the five-match series will be played in Perth.
The next matches will be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, the report said. To maintain the importance of Boxing Day and New Year, two cities, Melbourne and Sydney, have been selected for the final two matches. The match at Adelaide will be under floodlights.
The Indian team will play a five-match Test series in Australia after 32 years. Prior to this, there was a five-match series in 1991-92, in which Australia won 4-0.
India’s last two series in Australia were four matches each. India have won both these series in 2018-19 and 2020-21. In the 2018-19 series, India started to make a dent in Australia by winning by 146 runs in the second Test in Perth.
