Learn how to prevent heat stroke in summer
The heat of summer has increased and the temperature has increased by four degrees in a week. The highest maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded this summer. The maximum temperature was 39.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 22.4 degrees Celsius.
If you ignore it when the mercury rises in summer, it can lead to heatstroke and the condition can become serious. So citizens must be alert. Avoid walking in hot sun, drink plenty of water, if you experience fatigue, nausea, fever, seek medical advice immediately.
What can cause heatstroke?
• Doing physical labor and hard work in hot sun for a long time
• Working for hours in the factory’s boiler room
• Working in high temperature rooms for long periods of time
• Regular use of tight clothing like jeans
• Continuous exposure to rising temperatures can cause heat stroke
• Walking around in the sun for a long time without any care
symptoms
• Nausea
• vomiting
• Numbness in hands and feet
• Fatigue
• Fever over 103, hot and dry skin, rarely flushing, feeling unwell for a long time
• Absence of sweating, dizziness, feeling lethargic for a long time, severe headache, chest palpitations for a long time
• Increased blood pressure, mental restlessness, unconsciousness
High risk individuals
• Children below ten years of age, athletes
• People working in constant sun, elderly people
• Having heart diseases, lung disorders, kidney disorders
Treatment
• As soon as the heat stroke occurs, the patient should first be brought to the shade
• To reduce the patient’s temperature, loosen the clothes and immediately wash the limbs with cold water until the body temperature decreases
• The patient should be kept in a ventilated and cool room, the room fans, coolers, air conditioners should be turned on immediately
• If the patient regains consciousness, give him cold water, rehydration
• Tea, coffee should not be given in the beginning
• Ice packs should be placed under the armpit of the patient, cold water should be placed on the forehead of the patient
• The above treatment should be continued until the temperature of the patient is below 36.8 Celsius by thermometer
