India’s 30-year-old Jasprit Bumrah played a major role in India’s victory in the Visakhapatnam Test, picking up 9 wickets despite the lack of a pace-friendly pitch. After that, he made great strides in his ICC rankings and took the top spot. He surpassed Vichandran Ashwin, Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada.
Jasprit Bumrah is the fourth Indian bowler to top the ICC rankings. Earlier Bishan Singh Bedi, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had done this feat.
