While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that the government is committed to self-sufficiency in the agriculture sector. 55 lakh new jobs will be created in agriculture sector. Through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampad Yojana, 38 lakh farmers have benefited and 10 lakh jobs have been created.
Speaking further, Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is necessary to prevent the loss of the farmers after the harvest. Plans are also being worked out to prevent post-harvest losses. For this we are working to increase the partnership between private and public sector. For that, oilseed production campaign will be strengthened. New agricultural technology and agricultural insurance will be promoted under this.

Apart from this, the farmers related to dairying will also be helped. Schemes like National Gokul Mission are being implemented. Efforts are also being made by the Government to strengthen the fishery resources. Seafood production has doubled and productivity will be increased from three to five tonnes per hectare through the Matsya Sampada Yojana. This will create 55 lakh new employment opportunities, said the Finance Minister.
