The zombie virus was discovered by studying samples taken from Siberian permafrost. 13 virus samples were collected and researched.Scientists have said that these viruses can infect single-celled organisms.
The investigation revealed that several viruses from seven different Siberian locations were capable of spreading the infection. A sample of this virus is 48,500 years old.
Permafrost is a layer on or below the Earth’s surface. It is always frozen. It consists of clay, gravel and sand. It’s all held together by ice.
