Based on the life of Sam Manekshaw who was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, and the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal.
In 2021, the film was announced by RSVP Movies on the 107th birth anniversary of late Sam Manekshaw.
The movie was shot in ten locations of India including Jaipur, Kolkata, Punjab, Kashmir and Delhi.
It is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, under RSVP Movies.
It stars Vicky Kaushal in the title role, alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Zeeshan Ayyub.
