Starlink Satellite Crash: Elon Musk will drop as many as 100 satellites on Earth; What will be the effect on the environment?

Elon Musk to Crash 100 Starlink Satellites

Elon Musk has launched several satellites into space through ‘Starlink’ to provide satellite internet. About 100 of these satellites will be brought down to earth in the next six months. These satellites may fail in the future and cause problems for other satellites or rockets. So it has been decided to de-orbit them.

Musk’s SpaceX company will take all these satellites out of orbit and shoot them down. These satellites will burn up due to friction in the Earth’s atmosphere. Experts have expressed the opinion that it will have a big impact on the earth’s atmosphere. (Elon Musk Starlink) Aaj Tak has released news about this.

Air pollution

When an object falls on Earth from space, it has to travel through various layers of the atmosphere. Due to the friction that occurs at this time, the object catches fire. When metallic satellites ignite in this way, microscopic particles of the metal are mixed into the air. This increases the risk of air pollution.

Ozone layer

A large number of satellites are available in low earth orbit. As many as 5,000 satellites of Starlink company alone are orbiting here. It is also clear earlier that the particles of these satellites are damaging the ozone layer which is the protective cover of the earth.

Wooden satellite

As a solution to this problem, US NASA and Japan are jointly building a wooden satellite. Even if the satellite, made entirely of wood, crashes to Earth, it will burn up in the atmosphere. Being made of wood, no harmful particles or substances will be emitted from the ash of this satellite. This satellite will be launched by the middle of this year.
