Mumbai, the financial capital of India, is in the list of most expensive cities. This has been revealed in a survey. According to the report, Mumbai is the 136th. According to Mercer’s 2024 Cost of Living Survey, Mumbai is the most expensive city to live in India. After Mumbai, the cities include Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune.
According to the survey, Mumbai city is more expensive for people coming from other cities. Electricity, utilities, transportation and house rent are very expensive in Mumbai. Mumbai has jumped 11 places in the list of expensive cities this year. Mumbai is not included in the top 100 most expensive cities in the world. Globally, there has been no change in the ranking of the top 100 cities in the survey. Hong Kong is still number one.

Mumbai ranks 136th in the world
According to Mercer’s 2024 Cost of Living Report, Mumbai has risen 11 places to 136th globally. New Delhi (164) with an increase of 4 places, Chennai (189) with a fall of 5 places, Bangalore (195) with a fall of 6 places, Hyderabad (202) with stability, Pune (205) with an increase of 8 places, Kolkata (207) with an increase of 4 places.
