Chandigarh: The Haryana and Punjab High Court has ordered that the government should pay compensation of Rs 10,000 for each bite mark caused by a stray dog. The High Court was hearing a case. At this time the court said that at least 10 thousand rupees should be received for each tooth mark. Also, if 0.2 cm of meat has come out, at least 20 thousand rupees should be given.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court was hearing 193 dog bite cases. The court has issued an order in this matter and there is a possibility of a discussion due to this. The cases of stray dog bites are increasing day by day. Last month, Parag Desai, the CEO of famous tea company, Tiger Goat, was attacked by a stray dog. Due to this shock, Desai died.

Risk of rabies:

Cases of stray dog attacks are constantly coming to light in the country. Often this also leads to anger among the citizens. A small boy was bitten by a dog in Ghaziabad. He hid this from his family. The child had contracted rabies and his condition had deteriorated. After that, the boy died of suffocation.

Due to these incidents that happened in the last few months, discussion on social media started. There was a demand to take some action in this matter. The court has made a very important comment while hearing this matter. The court has clarified that the administration will be responsible in the case of stray dog bites.

Order for constitution of committee:

The court has ordered the Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh administrations to form a committee. The committee will have to determine the amount of compensation to be paid in case of attack by a dog or other stray animal. Nomadic animals include cow, bull, nilgai, donkey, dog, buffalo and others.

The committee formed in this regard will include officers like Deputy Commissioner, SDA, SP or DSP of Traffic Police. This decision of the High Court is considered important when people are angry about the attack of stray dogs. A similar decision may be sought in other states.
