This MoU was signed between the state government and the hydrogen energy developers in the presence of Chief Minister Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today at ‘Sahyadri’ guest house. On this occasion Principal Secretary of Energy Department Abha Shukla, Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Lokesh Chandra, Director General of Mahaurja Dr. Kadambari Balakawade and representatives of various companies were present.
NTPC Green Energy, Avada Green Hydrogen, Renew E-Fuels, Inox Air Products, LNT Green Tech, JSW Green Hydrogen, Welspun Godavari GH-2 Due to the proposed projects of these seven developers, there will be a financial investment of 2 lakh 76 thousand 300 crores.
Chief Minister Shinde said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also focused on green hydrogen. According to the guidelines of Central Government’s Green Hydrogen Mission, the State Government has released the ‘Green Hydrogen Policy-2023’. It aims to produce 500 ktpa of green hydrogen by 2030. For this, the state government has offered various subsidy concessions to green hydrogen developers.
Also a major project
The proposed seven projects have a capacity of 910 ktpa (kilo tonne per annum) and will create 64,000 jobs and reduce carbon emissions by 511 crore kilograms per year. About 4 thousand 732 ‘KTPA’ of green ammonia will be generated from this.
Maharashtra is the first state
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Maharashtra is the first state to have an effective policy on green hydrogen. Prime Minister Modi has set a target of decarbonisation by 2030. Proceeding accordingly. Due to green hydrogen, it will be possible to generate energy while maintaining the balance of the environment. Everyone should suggest the necessary changes in the policy which has been prepared by the state government. For Maharashtra to become a pilot state in the field of green hydrogen, the MoU signed today will be implemented successfully.
