Ganesh Chaturthi, a vibrant festival celebrating Lord Ganesha, is observed with great fervor across India, especially in Maharashtra. The ten-day celebration is marked by colorful processions, prayers, and a sense of community.

How the Ganaraya statue should not be?
• The idol of Ganaraya statue should not be seated on animals like rats, elephants or peacocks, nor on birds.
• Don’t buy standing Ganpati Bappa idol.
• Also the dancer, with one leg down, should not be in the posture of killing any demon.
• Do not worship Ganesha idols made from fiber, plastic, pulses. Ganesha idol should not be bigger than one feet.
How should the statue of Lord Ganesha be?
An idol statue of Ganaraya should be purchased which is with left trunk, wearing Padmasana, Parshu in right hand and ‘var’ (blessings) in the other hand, Pashankush in one left hand and Modak in the other hand.
Following things should be kept in mind while bringing Ganesha idol
• Carry tamhan and handkerchief while bringing Ganesha idol.
• Ganesha should be covered and the face of Ganesha should be brought towards you.
• Throw away the rice and water outside the door of the house.
• Then pour warm water, milk and again hot water on the feet of the person bringing Ganapati
• Suvasinis should perform Aukshana on Lord Ganesha and the person who brings Lord Ganesha.
• Ganapati should be brought into the house and rice should be spread on the plate and placed on it.
Points should be kept in mind while performing the prana pratistha (installation of idol) of Ganaraya
• Pran Pratishta (installation of idol) of the idol should preferably be done by children below ten years of age.
• The emotions and waves in the neck of the person doing prana pratistha descend into the idol.
• Children are naturally expressionless
• Also, pure emotions descend into idols and sattvik increases.
• If there are no children, anyone in the household can do the Pranapratistha of the idol with devotion.

How to worship the idol of Ganaraya?
• The idol should be worshiped daily during Ganeshotsavam.
• Garland of flowers, durva, red flower should be offered to Ganaraya everyday.
• Maintain a pleasant atmosphere in the house.
• Daily Ganesh Atharvashirsha, Sankatnashan Ganapati sources, Ganesh sahasranam sources should be recited.
• Also chant the mantra ‘Om Gan Ganpatye Namah’ 108 times.
• Offerings of food like Modak, Ladoo should be made to Ganaraya.
