New Delhi: Though news channels and mainstream media do not give much publicity to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, reports have surfaced that his YouTube channel is the most popular among political parties and leaders. The number of views received by YouTube channels of political parties and leaders for the week ending April 6 to April 12 has been released. These figures were released on 18 April.

As many as 31 percent of the total number of viewers belonging to political parties and political leaders are watching Rahul Gandhi’s YouTube channel. Narendra Modi, who is the most popular leader of the country, also has a YouTube channel. His subscribers are also much more than Rahul Gandhi. But their YouTube channel is watched by only 9 percent of the total viewers.

YouTube channels of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party of the ‘India’ alliance have won the first ten viewers of the YouTube channel. From April 6 to April 12, Rahul Gandhi’s YouTube channel, number one, was viewed by 5 crore 80 lakh viewers. Aam Aadmi Party’s YouTube channel is at the second position. This channel has got 2 crore 80lakh viewers.

The Indian National Congress channel, the official YouTube channel of the Congress party at the third position, got 2crore 60lakh million views, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel at the fourth position got 1crore 50lakh million views this week.

Prime Minister Modi’s YouTube channel has a whopping 2crore 20lakh subscribers while Rahul Gandhi’s YouTube channel has only 45lakh subscribers. BJP’s official YouTube channel got 1crore 3 lakh views. Congress is not doing well in Uttar Pradesh, but the Uttar Pradesh Congress YouTube channel has reached the sixth position with 80lakh viewers this week.

Gadkari at number eight

Nitin Gadkari’s YouTube channel is the only leader from Maharashtra in the list of top 10 people in this group. Nitin Gadkari’s YouTube channel got 40lakh 50thousand views this week. Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai Thamarai’s YouTube channel has reached the tenth position in terms of viewers, with 20lakh 50thousand million views this week.

Election ‘trend’ in social media too

A variety of creative memes are currently being used on social media for political criticism, candidate campaigning and voter awareness. It is also seen that famous dialogues from Bollywood films and Khumasdar drawings have been used. Therefore, there is a picture of election trend in the social media which is always in discussion for various trends.
