Urban Development Union Budget 2024-25
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on Tuesday. she has made many big announcements for urban development. The Modi government has emphasized on the development of infrastructure and Rs 11 lakh crore will be given for the development of infrastructure. 3.4 percent of GDP will be spent on infrastructure.
Speaking on urban development in the budget, the finance minister said that a development plan has been prepared for basic facilities in 100 big cities with a population of more than 30 lakhs. These include water supply and sewage treatment plants. Urban development schemes will benefit 1 crore middle class families. Along with this, street food hubs will be set up in selected cities.

Infrastructure
Speaking on infrastructure, the Finance Minister said that we support road connectivity. In line with this, we will construct Patna to Purnia Expressway, Bodhgaya-Rajgir-Vaishali-Darbanga Expressway, Buxar-Bagalpur Expressway. An additional two-lane bridge is to be constructed over the Ganges at Buxar. 26 thousand crores will be spent for this. Apart from this, 25 thousand villages will be connected with paved roads.

Agriculture, employment, social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy security, new ventures, research and development, youth facilities; The budget was presented keeping these issues in mind. 1.52 lakh crore has been announced for agriculture and allied sectors and the government will introduce a National Cooperative Policy. At the same time, the government will introduce a cluster scheme to increase the production of vegetables.
Finance Minister Sitharaman announced financial assistance to Bihar. We will promote industrial development in Bihar’s Gaya, said the finance minister. Therefore, the development of the eastern sector will be boosted. We will also cooperate in the development of road connectivity projects. Patna-Purnia Expressway, Buxar-Bhagalpur Highway, Bodh Gaya-Rajgir-Vaisali-Darbhanga and additional double decker bridge over river Ganga in Buxar will be constructed at a cost of Rs 26,000 crore.
