Many customers have shifted their network options to BSNL following the recent recharge rate hike by major private telecom operators in India such as Airtel, Jio and Vi. Apart from this, BSNL is expanding its 4G services across the country. BSNL’s 4G service is now available in more than 1000 locations across the country.

Also, BSNL has recently successfully completed its 5G network testing. The testing has been done by union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Soon the 5G network facility will be launched for mobile users.

Good news for you if you are planning to get a new BSNL SIM. BSNL allows you to choose your preferred mobile number. If you want your favorite number in your new BSNL SIM, know how you can.

How to choose your favorite mobile number in BSNL?

Step 1: Go to any search engine and search ‘BSNL Choose Your Mobile Number’.

Step 2: Click on ‘cymn’ link.

Step 3: Select your zone from South, North, East or West and select your state.

Step 4: BSNL allows new customers to search for preferred numbers including series, starting number, ending number or sum of numbers. You can also check fancy numbers by clicking on ‘Fancy Numbers’ tab.

Step 5: After selecting your preferred number click on ‘Reserve Number’ tab.

Step 6: Enter your current number to receive the OTP to reserve the number.

Step 7: Enter the OTP to reserve your preferred number.

Step 8: After reserving your number you need to visit the nearest BSNL office to get a BSNL SIM with your preferred number.

The company did not clarify whether the activation is direct or through Mobile Number Portability (MNP). BSNL launched its 5G service in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh in May this year and is expected to roll out the service across the country soon.
