Explanation of ICICI Bank
“Our customers are our top priority and we are dedicated to protecting their interests. We have noticed that around 17,000 new credit cards issued in the last few days have been incorrectly mapped to the wrong users in our digital channels. These are about 0.1 percent of the bank’s credit card portfolio.
As an immediate solution to this issue, we have blocked these cards and are issuing new cards to customers. We apologize for the inconvenience. Also not a single incident of misuse of cards in this set of cards has come to our notice. But if anyone has suffered financial loss due to this, we assure that the bank will compensate them accordingly.”
