We are constantly suffering due to fraud calls, spam calls. It also carries the risk of fraud. We are blocking such numbers of spam calls and messages, reporting spam. But you must also be wondering if such calls will come and we will get to know quickly or if such calls will stop.
Will the spam calls and sms that spoil the mobile experience be reduced? The answer to this question now seems to be yes. Because, there is an agreement between mobile companies (Telecom Operators) and expert companies in the field of technology to reduce these annoying call spam and messages.
According to the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), telcos are using latest technology to reduce spam calls and SMS. It will use technology like blockchain. This report has also said that there has been a huge reduction in spam sent through SMS in the last few years.

However, spam calls on phones are still a big problem. Government and telco companies are making concerted efforts to control this. Currently, 140 number series for promotional calls and 160 number series for transaction and service related calls have been planned by the government. This is expected to make it easier for customers to identify the type of call.
The Consumer Protection Department is preparing new rules to curb spam calls and messages that cause consumer distress. Banks, fintech companies, real estate companies and other organizations will also have to take responsibility for their spam calls and messages after the regulations come into force. Because, such organizations often take help of third party agencies for promotional purposes. These rules will make it easier to take action against such unauthorized telemarketers, COAI Director-General SP Kochhar said.
Until now, The Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation (TCCCPR) under TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) was trying to prevent spam calls and messages. However, now there is great hope of reducing spam calls and messages in the future due to the joint efforts of telco companies, techno companies and the government.
