Instagram: Congress has overtaken BJP on Instagram. In the first three months of this year, 13.2 lakh new followers were added to the Congress’s Instagram account.

At present, the battle for the Lok Sabha elections is going on in the country. Now all the political parties are busy in election campaigning and contacting the people. Recently, social media has emerged as a major medium for election campaigning.
BJP, the country’s largest party, has more than 76 lakh followers on Instagram. The number of followers of Congress in the second position is 40 lakh, Aam Aadmi Party 12 lakh and Trinamool Congress 1 lakh.
On ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), BJP has 2.1 crore followers, Congress 1.04 crore, AAP 65 lakh and Trinamool Congress 7 lakh.
On the other hand, AAP has 59 lakh subscribers, BJP 58 lakh, Congress 44 lakh and TMC 6 lakh on YouTube.
These statistics show that BJP is far ahead of other political parties on almost all social media platforms. But these are total figures.
If we talk about new users, the situation changes a bit. Congress and AAP have overtaken BJP in adding new users on Instagram and YouTube. The number of new followers of Congress and AAP on this platform has increased every month since January this year.
According to India Today report, Congress gained 59 thousand new followers on Facebook in January 2024, 70 thousand in February and 1.08 lakh new followers in March.
The number of new BJP accounts was around 1.2 lakh in January and February and 1.7 lakh in March. Accordingly, if we look at the number of new followers of both the parties, it is seen that Congress is winning over BJP. However, if we look at the total numbers, BJP is much ahead.
AAP lead on YouTube
The best performer on YouTube is Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party. Congress YouTube channel has also increased. But, the condition of BJP’s YouTube channel is not very good.
In the first three months of this year, AAP’s YouTube channel has grown to 5.9 lakh subscribers. It has increased by 3.6 lakhs in March alone.
Compared to other parties, the number of BJP members on YouTube has increased by 5.3 lakh in these three months. During this period Congress got 5 lakh new subscribers.
Meanwhile, videos uploaded on BJP’s channel had the highest number of views. In these three months, BJP’s videos have received more than 43 crore views. AAP got 30.78 crore views and Congress got 16.69 crore views.
Congress lead on Insta
Congress has overtaken BJP on Instagram. In the first three months of this year, 13.2 lakh new followers were added to the Congress’s Instagram account.
BJP’s number of new followers was 8.5 lakh and AAP’s was 2.3 lakh. TMC’s Instagram account has received only 6000 new followers.
Overall, among the four political parties, BJP is stronger overall, but Congress and AAP have also improved.
