The number of heroine-led films in Hindi cinema is increasing day by day. Several heroines’ films have been included in the ‘Hundred Crore Club’. It has been proved that she can do dance, romance as well as action very well. Now in director Rajesh Krishnan’s film ‘Crew’ three leading heroines of Hindi cinema have played the lead roles. The story of this film revolves around these three heroines.
Geeta Sethi (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor-Khan) and Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon) work as air hostesses in Kohinoor Airlines. The airline is owned by Vijay Walia (Shashwat Chatterjee). For the last six months, they have exhausted the salary of 4000 employees. So all the employees are in financial crisis. Geeta, Jasmin and Divya all belong to middle class families. Geeta’s husband Arun (Kapil Sharma) is struggling financially. The family depends on Geeta’s salary. She wants to open her own restaurant in Goa in future.
Jasmin wants to start her own company, while Divya is a topper from Haryana and dreams of becoming a pilot. These three have different dreams; But now all these three are air hostesses. One day, one of his senior colleagues Rajvanshi (Ramakant Dayma) dies in the plane. After that the story takes a different turn. There are golden biscuits on the dead body of Rajvanshi. Seeing her, these three are not tempted. In that, our airline is losing money. Your salary has been delayed for six months. The financial condition of your house has collapsed. So all these three get involved in gold smuggling and it is better to see what happens on the screen.
Director Rajesh Krishnan has made a critical commentary on the loss-making airlines as well as the family and financial situation of the employees working in those companies. He has struck a perfect balance between the past and the present while presenting this story. What is more, this is a humorous story. However, the screenplay is not strong enough to make the movie a disappointment. Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are all top heroines in Hindi cinema. So expectations were high from these three; But it seems that these three have not performed as well as they should. Only their hot looks and glamorous-stylish appearance are their achievements.
However, the three’s on-screen chemistry is well matched. Diljit Dosanjh, Tripti Khamkar, Rajesh Sharma and other actors have also acted in this film. He has played the roles assigned to him in his own way. Tripti Khamkar has made a good impression in her role. The dialogues in the film are crisp. Talking about the music, the songs ‘Choli ke gyel kya hai’, ‘Ghagharo Jyo Ghumyo’ and ‘Sona Kitna Sona Hai’ have been recreated. Anuj Rakesh Dhawan’s cinematography is excellent. Director Rajesh Krishnan has tried his best to make this film stylish and glamorous. So the screenplay has been neglected. Obviously, the film does not capture much of the mind. This leads to frustration.
