Mumbai is now number one in Asia as a city of billionaires. After New York, Mumbai ranks third in the world in terms of billionaires. New York is home to 119 billionaires. London is second with 97 billionaires. There are currently 92 billionaires in Mumbai.
18 new millionaires have become in one year in Beijing. Now only 91 billionaires remain in Beijing, ranking fourth in the world and second in Asia. In fifth place is Shanghai with 87 billionaires.
The total wealth of all billionaires in Mumbai is $445 billion. This is 47% more than last year. The total wealth of Beijing billionaires is 265 billion dollars. This is 28 percent less than last year. Money is raining in Mumbai from sectors like energy and pharmaceuticals. Billionaires like Mukesh Ambani are making huge profits in this.
Mangal Prabhat Lodha and family are Mumbai’s richest billionaires in real estate. Mukesh Ambani’s wealth has grown considerably in the list of the world’s richest people, he is at the 10th position.
