GST on Online Gaming: 28 percent GST will be levied to curb online gaming, casinos, horse racing and lotteries. For this, on behalf of the state government, an amendment bill has been presented in the Legislative Assembly on the first day.
The central government has prepared a new tax standard for taxation of online gaming and casinos. The State Government has introduced the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Act Amendment Bill 2017.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented this bill in the House today. Accordingly, even if a person is running an online gaming company from abroad, it will be mandatory for him to register.
Many organizations had given feedback in this regard in the GST Council meeting. After that Parliament amended the Goods and Services Tax Act. Accordingly, 28 percent GST will be levied on online and offline gaming where money is exchanged.
Chit fund action will be empowered
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis introduced a bill to amend the Chit Funds Act (1982). Many cases related to chit funds come to the state government for action. Many such appealed cases are pending before the government for hearing. After amending the bill, the state government will get the right to hear and process all these cases.
